The Cedarwood Towers project involved the renovation of two 11-story towers totaling 206 units. The precast concrete, hexagon-shaped structures were originally built in 1973 and were in need of various upgrades. The project took place on an accelerated schedule and Katerra was able to successfully renovate 20 units every 10 days.
The units underwent complete renovations including flooring, paint, cabinets, and fixtures. Additional interior upgrades were made to the leasing office and community areas to include a community kitchen and large entertainment area that opens onto a courtyard through large sliding accordion doors. The courtyard was restored to its former glory offering barbecue areas, gardens, and game tables for residents to entertain. The exterior of the building received full paint of the towers, new roofing, solar panels, and new up and down building lighting to light up the towers for all occasions throughout the year. The building also received added security to include CCTV, complete access control system, and site fencing – all controlled via Wi-Fi, data, and mobile applications.
Cedarwood Towers was completed in partnership with E+A and CPP Housing.
